A WORD FROM OUR MD

WHY DID YOU TRAIN TO BECOME A SPECIALIST IN HEALTH?

Early on, I could see how important good health was for living an enjoyable and fulfilling life. I had an inner knowing that we have the power to change our health for the better when given the right information and in the right circumstances. This led me on a path of learning as much as possible about how the human body and mind functions, and ultimately sharing that with others.

WHERE IS THE MOST ADVENTUROUS PLACE YOU’VE EVER BEEN?

Gulmarg, Kashmir – a remote mountainous area on the Indian side of the border with Pakistan.

WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT ZOLA?

It’s redefining what medicine is to different people. It’s bridging the gap between modern and ancient knowledge. It’s also from the earth and can be seen as reconnecting us back to our roots… so that we can reach our zenith.

During a guided breathing session on the beach in Malta a few years ago.

IN WHAT WAY ARE YOU THE SAME AS YOUR CHILDHOOD SELF?

Being the youngest of four brothers I can still be a little bit cheeky and get away with it.

Getting into medical school in Prague. It gave me some hope when I needed it the most.

Letting things be.

WORK IS GREAT AND EVERYTHING, BUT WHAT REALLY GETS YOU IN THE ZONE?

Sharing what I feel is inspiring, seeing others light up, going beyond what was once thought impossible.

WHAT ARE 4 THINGS YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT?

Purpose, meditation, being in nature, good times with other people

HOW DO YOU LIKE TO UNWIND AT THE END OF THE DAY?

Journaling, playing the guitar.

WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE HERO’S JOURNEY?

Siddhartha, the Buddha.

WHICH SONG GETS YOU IN THE ZONE EVERY TIME?

Stairway to Heaven.

IF YOU COULD HAVE A DINNER PARTY WITH ANY FOUR PEOPLE, DEAD OR ALIVE, WHO WOULD YOU INVITE?

Leonardo Da Vinci, Carl Jung, George Harrison and Wim Hof. I’m sure they’d all get along with one another.

WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO MASTER IN LIFE?

I’m trying to master anything I put my mind to. At the moment that’s living in harmony with nature and bringing back ancient wisdom into the world.

WHAT ARE YOUR SUPER-POWERS?

Listening, self-experimentation, holding space for others.
